Corporate tax and Howdy Modi, Is there any relation between them

The 'Howdy, Modi' event has been organised by the Texas India Forum (TIF). The event will be three hours long and will begin at 8:30 pm IST (India time) to 11:30 pm IST. The three-hour show will see artistes present Indian classical and folk songs and dances, among other numbers.

More than a 1,000 Gujaratis from Houston are preparing for a mega 'dandiya', a traditional Gujarati dance, to welcome the prime minister for the 'Howdy, Modi' event.

According to the reports, the 'Howdy, Modi' event will start with a 90-minute cultural programme called 'Woven: The Indian-American Story'. The programme has been prepared to celebrate the contributions the Indian-Americans have made in the United States.

Over 50,000 attendees and those watching at home will experience the vibrant expressions of people empowered by their identity and driven to enrich the communities around them, TIF said.

The cultural show will have nearly 400 performers and community members from Texas and across the United States. A total of 27 groups are performing at the 'Howdy, Modi' event. According to the reports, two original songs, too, have been written for the 'Howdy, Modi' event.

"The event is a grand celebration of culture and unity of America and India, where attendees will hear Modi speak about the deepening US-India ties strengthened by the confirmations of over 3 million Indian Americans in the US and will lay out his vision of India's growth and development," TIF spokesperson Priti Dawra said.

The stadium gates will open three hours before the beginning of the 'Howdy, Modi' event after which the cultural programme will begin and continue for 90 minutes.

The event will be broadcast live in Hindi, English and Spanish languages followed by the address of PM Modi and US President Donald Trump, who would be joining the Indian prime minister at the event.

There would be a 'Shared Dreams, Bright Future' session at the 'Howdy, Modi' event. The session would focus on the success and the strength of the United States-India relationship.

The event will be followed by PM Narendra Modi's speech.

TIF spokesperson Gitesh Desai said that more than 100 buses are being provided to ferry the participants. Ahead of PM Modi's arrival on Saturday, a car rally was also organised in Houston on Friday.

The 'Howdy, Modi' is likely to end at 11:30 pm (India time) after which PM Modi will join a private community reception. The prime minister will then leave for New York to attend the 74th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

Maths never helped Einstein discover gravity: Piyush Goyal

Days after Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman attributed the slump in the automobile sector to millennials using Ola and Uber, Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal on Wednesday said people should not be too concerned with GDP maths, since “maths never helped Einstein discover gravity”.

“Don’t go by all these calculations you see on TV, that if the country has to become a $5 trillion economy, it will have to grow at 12% but right now it is currently growing at 6-7%,” Mr. Goyal told reporters at a media interaction following a meeting with the Board of Trade.

“Don’t get into those maths; those maths never helped Einstein discover gravity,” he said. “If he had only gone by structured formulae and what was past knowledge, I don’t think there would have been any innovation in this world,” Mr. Goyal, a qualified chartered accountant, added.
